NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — It’s their first season of play in Florida, and Pasco County could soon become the official home base for the professional basketball team, the Tampa Bay Titans.

Pasco-Hernando State College will host the Tampa Bay Titans vs. Raleigh Firebirds basketball game on March 29. The game will be held at the college’s West Campus Physical Fitness Center, 10230 Ridge Road in New Port Richey. Doors to the gymnasium will open at 6 p.m., with the tip-off at 7:15.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Moffitt Cancer Center and PHSC Athletics.

"We’re excited to bring exciting professional basketball to PHSC and to Pasco County," said Timothy Beard, college president. "This is the first event of its kind in the community – and we are proud to both host and sponsor the game, with proceeds benefiting the Moffitt Cancer Center to help raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment in Pasco County. We’re also pleased that a portion of the proceeds will benefit our growing college athletic program."

This is the Titans’ first season of play in this new professional league, and the second year of the league. There are 14 teams in the USA. The Titans is the only one in Florida.

PHSC has been selected because of the Titans’ desire to have Pasco County as their potential home base in the future.

The first 50 fans at the door will receive a complimentary Tampa Bay Titans-branded giveaway.
